Where do I leave from?

Captain Cook Cruises departs from Perth or Fremantle for selected cruises. Our office in Perth is located at Pier 3, Barrack Square, Perth. Our Fremantle office is located at B Shed, Victoria Quay, Fremantle.

For information on how to get to our Perth departure location, please visit the City of Perth’s “Getting in and around” website for transport information, as well as road closures that may affect you.  We strongly recommend using public transport where possible to avoid any parking problems.

Please note parking at Barrack Square is limited to 2 hours. The nearest parking area is 500 metres to the east along Riverside Drive at the Terrace Road car park.

What are the seating arrangements?

Our tables accommodate six to eight people per table on most vessels.

All catered cruises will have assigned seating. The utmost effort is made to ensure groups travelling together are seated in close proximity if too large to fit on the same table. 

The Swan Valley Gourmet Wine Cruise has assigned seating for lunch at Sandalford Estate however the seating on board the vessel is free seating.

Our non-catered cruises, including the Swan River Scenic Cruises, Fremantle Explorer, One-Way Cruises, Fremantle Craft Beer Tour and Cruise and Twilight are all first-on, first-seated basis.

Can I have a window seat?

We will gladly accept seating requests and accommodate where possible. Unfortunately, we cannot always guarantee requests, but please do notify us of your preference so that we may attempt to seat you where you prefer.


Are there any days you do not operate?

Captain Cook Cruises operates every day of the year except Christmas Day (December 25th) and has some reduced services on Good Friday.

Be sure however to check our winter and summer schedules on the specific cruise you wish to travel on as departures can differ.

Do your boats still operate in bad weather?

Our vessels are among the largest cruising the river and as such, are very stable. Our skippers are well professionally and expertly trained to only take vessels out when it is safe to do so and the ultimate decision rests with them. If they decide it is safe to run, then our standard Cancellation and Refund Policy applies.

Should the weather be extreme and we are unable to run safely, we will advise passengers with as much notice as possible, and offer to transfer to a different date or a refund as applicable. To avoid any inconvenience to your plans, please ensure that you give Captain Cook Cruises your best contact number, preferably mobile, so that we can contact you at short notice.

During winter due to high tides and storm fronts, there may be occasions where the upstream vessels are unable to navigate under certain bridges. On these occasions we reserve the right to use alternative landing jetties to those stated in our literature and transport passengers by coach the short distance to their destination or cancel as necessary.


Can I BYO or purchase alcohol onboard?

Our vessels do not allow BYO as they are all fully licensed. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased on board all vessels, for consumption while enjoying the cruise. 

No alcohol can be removed from the vessels. The exception to this Law is when the alcohol has been purchased at 3rd party venues (e.g. Sandalford Estate or Mandoon) or is expressly sold on certain vessels under our "liquor store licence" which authorises the sale of packaged liquor for consumption off premises only.


What ages are eligible for a Child's fare?

To be eligible for a Child's fare, Children must be between the ages of 4-12 years of age. Under 4 years of age is FREE with the purchase of an Infant ticket

What constitutes a Family when purchasing a Family ticket?

2 Adults and 2 Children only are classed as a family ticket. The children must be between the ages of 4 and 12 years.

What is classed as Concession?

Concessional fares apply to:

  • Australian Seniors Cards,
  • Australian Concession Cards,
  • Full time students (14-25 years), and
  • YHA, VIP & Nomad card holders.

Unfortunately at this time these discounts do not apply to overseas seniors.

Relevant ID must be provided at time of check-in. If valid ID is not able to be presented at the time of check-in the full fare will have to be paid

Do you offer group pricing? 

On majority of our cruises we do offer a group rate for groups 6 or more when booked in person or over the phone. Please contact our friendly Reservations Team on (08) 9325 3341 for further information.


When do I have to pay?

Bookings need to be paid for at the time of booking.  We accept AMEX, VISA and MasterCard over the phone, website or in person. 

For group bookings of 6 or more passengers, please read our Cancellation and Refund Policy for our extended payment options.

What are your credit card surcharges?

All credit card transactions will incur a surcharge of 1.25% (MasterCard, Visa & American Express included).

No surcharge applies for cash or EFTPOS cheque & savings payments made in person.

Is there WiFi on the vessels?

No there is no WiFi on the vessels however City of Perth offer free WiFi at numerous points throughout the city, including Elizabeth Quay and Barrack Street Jetty.

Which vessel am I travelling on?

Whilst our friendly staff can advise you what vessel is currently operating for your cruises, vessels may be changed without notice due to scheduling requirements or passenger numbers. Should you have a preference, please enquire at time of booking, but we do reserve the right to change vessels without prior notice regardless of circumstance.


Can I take bikes and luggage on board?

Our downstream vessels are able to take bikes and luggage on board. As our upstream vessels are smaller, a limited amount of luggage and bikes can be taken on board, so as to maintain passenger comfort. Please contact our friendly Reservations Team on (08) 9325 3341 for further information.


Do you have toilets on your vessels?

Yes, all of our vessels have toilets onboard; however on the downstream vessels the toilets are located down a flight of stairs.

We sure do! A Captain Cook Cruises' gift voucher is the perfect gift for all occasions, ideal for family, friends and corporate clients.
