SeaLink Rottnest Island are launching 4th November 2017 with official ferry services starting 5th November 2017.
The Launch on 4th November 2017 coincides with Fremantle Ports Martitime Day.
The Royal Australian Navy will have extensive shore displays and a submarine HMAS Waller quayside. Other vessels will include the refuelling ship Vacamonte, Svitzer and TAMS Group tugs, a river dredging barge, STS Leeuwin and Fremantle Ports’ emergency response boat.
There will be guided walking tours, free harbour boat rides and Australian Border Force will have its detector dogs in action. Outdoor displays will include a huge LNG tanker, vintage and classic vehicles, model ships, prime movers, a crane simulator, surf lifesaving and marine safety equipment.
Activities for the young include interactive art with Art Collective and craft with artist Angela Rossen, face painting and quizzes. Children arriving as pirates, mermaids, sailors or sea creatures can take part in a dress-up parade.
